I'm excited about this. I was hoping to be able to announce this along with the CD release, but the timing of everything didn't work out - but God's timing is perfect. If you've read this blog at all, you might remember that I had an opportunity in January to go on a songwriters trip to Mumbai, India. It was a trip that honestly changed my life. The very last day of the trip, some members of the team and I visited an orphanage on the outskirts of the city. The Spirit stirred something up in my heart that day - and gave me a love and passion for this orphanage and ministry that just won't go away. [read more here]

We're about 8 days away from the CD release and some of you might be saying to yourself, "What's all this Daughters and Sons business about anyways?" Well, I hope this little blog post sheds a little light on what this new project is all about. it's an album that we began work on last May - first recording some demos, writing some more songs, working through the songs with Mac, recording in the fall, mixing and mastering this spring, and waiting for a bunch of boxes of CDs to arrive on our doorstep right now. The Dwelling Place is a pretty special place for us - it's where we played our first official show as a band. We're excited about being back there for a special evening of worship. his Sunday, I leave for a songwriters trip to India. There are musicians from across the country heading to Mumbai for 10 days. While were there, you can stay up to date with the team by visiting this website: updates

This year, our church decided to do something creative for our Christmas Eve invitations, so members of our worship team came together to record a few Christmas songs for an album that we could hand out to members of our community. I'm going to try to post a few songs over the next couple days, but to start off with - here's a song I wrote called "It's Christmastime." You can go here to download it: MP3

Just a quick update on the progress of the new album, 'Daughters and Sons.' After the initial recording dates in September, Micah spent a few extra days in November wrapping up the lead vocals with Mac Powell in Atlanta. Since then, we've been putting the finishing touches on the album at our studio here in VA. The good news: all recording should be completed by this weekend! Up next is mixing, mastering, replication, and a huge sigh of relief. We're hoping all of that will be completed and we'll have a finished album by mid to late January.

In other news, we've added several live dates to our website. We'd love to see you at one of our shows and hear you singing these new songs along with us.

One more thing, Micah is heading off on a songwriters trip to Mumbai, India January 3-13. He'll be joining together with other songwriters / worship leaders from across the country to hopefully write some meaningful missions oriented worship songs. He'd really appreciate your prayers.

We've spent most of our time writing and rehearsing new music in anticipation of our upcoming album, "Daughters & Sons," produced by Mac Powell of Third Day. Please begin praying for us! We're excited to announce that we've just started a new partnership with Ben Arment. We are going to begin recording our new CD - Sons and Daughters - starting July 6th and (drum roll please) Third Day's Mac Powell will be producing it! In fact, we're going to be recording it at his home studio. We're so excited about this amazing opportunity. Please keep us in your prayers as we begin the recording process.
